ITEM 10081. BLACKING BOTTLE,
forest/moss green, pontil scar, 4 ½"H, sheared and
fire polished mouth, mint. American, possibly blown at the Mount
Vernon Glass Works, Vernon, NY, C. 1835.
It is this bottle's unusual color,
slightly beveled edges and base markings that lead me to believe
it is a Mount Vernon product. The bottle is undamaged and quite
beautiful when displayed in a sunny window.
