ITEM 0011. SMALL BLOWN THREE
MOLD PITCHER, (McK# GII-18), clear with a bluish cast, globular
body with tooled pour spout and an applied ribbed hollow handle,
pontil scar, 5"H, sheared and fire polished rim, mint. American,
1820-1840, ex. David Ellis Collection.
Although not blown in a particularly fancy mold nor created from
colored metal, this jaw dropping blown three mold pitcher is
still THE BEST, as the form and handle treatment are unparalleled.
In fact, of all the handled pieces we have sold over the years
this is probably my favorite when viewed as an artistic achievement.
