with profuse "black" slaggy striations, two-piece mold
cylinder, 13 ¾"H x 7 ½"D, HUGE (nearly
3"D) red iron pontil scar, mint. American, C. 1850, extremely
rare.
UTILITY JAR, olive amber,
three-piece mold cylinder with expanded mouth, early smooth base,
8 3/8"H x 3 9/16"D, crudely applied mouth, an attic
quality jar with a skin deep 1/16" body flake that probably
occurred when the jar was removed from the mold. Blown at a Stoddard
Glass Works, Stoddard, NH, C. 1860, scarce.
FREEBLOWN STORAGE JAR, aquamarine,
cylindrical, pontil scar, 8 7/8"H x 6"D, outwardly rolled
mouth, a mint jar exhibiting the expected light usage wear. American,
1840-1860.
FOOD JAR, deep greenish aquamarine,
three piece-mold cylinder, pontil scar, 10 1/4"H x 4 1/4"D,
crudely applied mouth, a mint jar with an interesting manufacturer's
flaw - the applied mouth does not entirely cover the sheared neck.
American, 1850-1860.

cylindrical, pontil scar, 9 3/4"H x 4 ½"D, delicately
flared mouth, a mint jar exhibiting the expected light usage wear.
Blown at a Midwestern Glass House, 1820-1840.

1489), bright golden yellow with olive and amber tones, cylindrical,
smooth base, quart, sheared and ground mouth, mint. American,
C. 1885.
"CUNNINGHAM & CO
PITTSBURGH PA", (RB7# 722), bluish aquamarine, cylindrical,
smooth base, half-gallon (10"H x 4 5/8"D), outwardly
rolled and tooled collar formed to accept a cork stopper, a mint
bottle with some minor exterior wear. Cunningham & Co. Glass
Works, Pittsburgh, PA, 1870-1880, scarce. Ex. Alex Kerr Collection.
"WEYMAN'S / COPENHAGEN
/ TRADE (MONOGRAM) MARK / SNUFF" WITH ORIGINAL "WEYMAN'S
COPENHAGEN SNUFF PITTSBURGH, PA." GLASS LID, (RB7# 2950),
bright orange amber, two-piece mold wax sealer, smooth base, quart,
applied mouth with wax seal groove, dug and lightly cleaned to
near perfection. Probably blown at a Pittsburgh District Glass
Works, C. 1875, a scarce jar that is rarely encountered with an
original amber glass lid.
FOOD OR PRODUCT JAR, brilliant
aquamarine, cylindrical, heavy iron pontil scar, 8 7/8"H
x 3 1/2"D, crudely applied mouth, a mint bottle exhibiting
some manufacturer's mouth roughness. American, 1855-1865.
"POTTER & BODINE'
/ AIR-TIGHT / FRUIT JAR / PHILADA - PATENTED / APRIL 13TH / 1858",
(similar to RB7# 2388), brilliant aquamarine, barrel shaped cylinder,
jagged pontil scar, half-gallon, wax sealer, about mint (pinhead-sized
top of lip flake and some contents residue contained within neck
channel). American, C. 1860, rare.
