ES5. CATHEDRAL PEPPERSAUCE, clear,
medium green, square with fancy cathedral arches, tubular pontil
scar, 8 3/4"H x 2"W, crudely applied double collar,
mint. American, C. 1850, scarce mold and color.
This fanciful cathedral peppersauce bottle features embossed
"cross-hatching" within two of its four arched and
indented panels. The mold is scarce and especially difficult
to find in color. The bottle is "fresh" to the market
from a longtime collection and it stands tall and proud as a
superior example of its type.
