RARE IP BRILLIANT BLUE GREEN WM UNDERWOOD FANCY PICKLE JAR - ATTIC MINT

ITEM DG50. "WM. UNDERWOOD / & CO. / BOSTON" FANCY PICKLE JAR, brilliant blue green, generally cylindrical with six bulged panels and lobed shoulders, iron pontil scar, 11 5/8" H, hand-tooled single collar mouth, an attic quality jar in perfect condition. American, C.1850, rare.

Rare even in aquamarine, this is only the second example of this attractively formed Boston pickle jar that we have encountered in a real "color." The bottle is of attic quality with NO damage, wear or staining and as shown, it is also beautifully crude and very boldly embossed.
